The National EdTech Plan in Action: Improving Technology Use in Utah Schools through Shared Successes
Wednesday July 9, 2025 1:30pm - 2:30pm MDT
The 2024 National Education Technology Plan (NETP) provides a critical framework for leveraging technology to enhance teaching and learning in K-12 education. This presentation will examine the NETP's focus on addressing three key digital divides: the Digital Use Divide, the Digital Design Divide, and the Digital Access Divide. Participants will gain an understanding of how these divides impact educational equity and explore practical strategies for implementation aligned with the NETP's recommendations.

Specifically, this presentation will:
--Analyze current Utah data to highlight areas of strength and identify opportunities for growth in technology integration across the state.
--Discuss promising practices and initiatives already underway in Utah that address the digital divides and promote effective technology use.
--Offer actionable pathways for Utah schools and districts to further bridge the digital divides, including strategies for professional development, resource allocation, and community partnerships.

This presentation will be of interest to school administrators, technology leaders, curriculum specialists, and teachers in Utah who are seeking to strengthen the use of technology within their schools and districts.

From Potential to Proficiency: Driving Systemic Change
Wednesday July 9, 2025 2:50pm - 3:50pm MDT
Leadership can be lonely - especially when leading systemic change. Join fellow leaders to consider why change is hard and how to channel your energy as you lead necessary shifts with instruction and innovation.

Transforming student learning outcomes requires more than just great programs—it demands systemic change driven by evidence-based practices, strategic leadership, and the effective use of digital resources. In this interactive session, we will consider how to leverage the Pareto Principle (80/20 rule) to help district and school leaders focus on the high-impact 20% of efforts that drive 80% of results in technology adoption, instructional implementation, and leadership decision-making.

We will also consider Knoster's Model for Managing Complex Change as a helpful framework for identifying areas of focus that allow research-backed initiatives to take root and thrive in your school or district.
