About me
Etiana Coley Mells is a sociocultural anthropologist and an educator currently serving as the Ethnic Studies Education Specialist and a federal grant manager focused on incorporating ethnic studies into K-12 classrooms and promoting safe and healthy schools at the Utah State Board of Education. She has been with the agency since 2021 and has a background in education, specifically teaching diverse multilingual learners, global studies, and international law. Etiana is passionate about teaching and learning about different cultures, peoples, and histories. She hopes to inspire others to share this passion in order to create a more understanding world.
