About me
I have been teaching in a blended grade setting for the last 8 years. I integrate domains together. For example, Writing and ELA are both aligned with Utah's History Core Standards. Since there isn't an ELA/Writing curriculum out there that does this, I have created my own. In order to differentiate for my struggling readers, on-grade level readers, and high-flyers, and yet still cover the same topics and meet the requirements for a given standard, I have learned a few tricks to successfully accomplish this seemingly impossible task. In addition, this year, I had the privilege of having a new student who spoke no English at all. I translated much of the instructional content into his native language, so he could still feel success and continue learning while adjusting to a completely new world.
